This is an original US XXIV Corps patch from genuine military surplus stock.
Pacific and Vietnam Service
Activated in Hawaii in 1944, the XXIV Corps led key Pacific assaults during the Leyte and Okinawa campaigns. Later reactivated in 1968 for the Vietnam War, this shoulder sleeve insignia was worn by soldiers overseeing operations in the northern provinces until 1972.
Insignia Construction and Design
The patch features a shield-shaped design with a deep blue background and a white heart at its centre, inspired by Civil War heraldry. Measuring roughly 6cm by 7cm, it is made from embroidered cotton thread with a khaki twill backing and cut edges for uniform application.
