Self-Inflating Polymer Technology
These dry, flat 400g sacks contain SAP500 super-absorbent polymer. On contact with freshwater, this compound activates to swell the barrier up to 10cm high in twenty minutes. This engineering eliminates the need for manual sand filling, creating a heavy, gel-filled barrier that moulds to uneven ground, forming a tight seal under emergency pressure.
Natural Jute Barrier Defence
Woven from heavy-duty natural jute hessian, this barrier offers a high friction coefficient to prevent stacked sacks from sliding under strong currents. Unlike synthetic plastics that decay in direct sunlight, the natural plant fibres remain tough during use and degrade safely over time. It represents a practical survival upgrade over standard civilian plastic barriers.
Tactical Deployment and Reuse
Heavy-duty cotton pull tabs are stitched into the edges. You can drag these bags under doorways, shutting the door on the handles to lock them securely against rising tides. For sewer backflow, roll a dry bag into drain pipes or toilets; it swells inside to seal the line. After use, dry them in the sun to evaporate the gel and store them flat.

This item was issued to the Other Army during the Modern (2000–Present) and remains in Supergrade condition. It is unissued original surplus, but may have minor dust or storage marks from warehouse storage. We recommend giving it a wash or airing it out before wearing.
