Forces Uniform & Kit decided to close its doors. Rather than seeing a great surplus name disappear, Epic Militaria bought the brand and worked out a deal with Jan to keep sourcing genuine surplus gear under the new name surplusQM.
A New Home for Surplus
When the team at Forces Uniform & Kit decided to close their doors, it was a loss for the military surplus community. Sourcing genuine surplus gear is not like buying standard commercial retail. It requires decades of trade relationships, global contacts, and an eye for cataloging vintage and modern issue kit.
Rather than letting a respected name in surplus disappear, Epic Militaria bought the brand and worked out a deal with Jan, the ex-owner of Forces Uniform & Kit, to continue doing what he does best: sourcing high-quality genuine surplus gear from around the world.
By bringing together Epic Militaria’s logistics, warehouse operations, and support with Jan’s sourcing network and the experience of Forces Uniform & Kit, we created surplusQM (Surplus Quartermasters). We designed a brand-new website specifically for surplus gear, focusing on transparent hand-grading and accurate sizing guides.
