This is a genuine Russian Soviet webbing belt with buckle from the Cold War era.
Cold War Combat Origin
Originally issued to Soviet Army infantrymen during the late Cold War, this field belt was engineered to support heavy load-bearing gear. The outer layer is made of Kirza, a specialized Soviet rubberised canvas that mimics leather, while the inner face retains a tough cotton webbing weave. This dual-material design kept the belt highly durable yet affordable to produce in massive numbers.
Subdued Field Hardware
The belt features a heavy-duty steel plate buckle embossed with the iconic five-pointed star, hammer, and sickle. Unlike high-visibility brass parade gear, this buckle is finished in a protective subdued olive-drab paint. This matte coating was designed to prevent sun glare in combat environments, helping soldiers maintain concealment during outdoor manoeuvres.
Built for Outdoor Utility
This Grade A original military surplus piece is ideal for bushcraft, hiking, and historical reenactments. The 45mm width fits standard trousers and field gear loops perfectly, while the metal slide on the reverse of the buckle allows for easy adjustment. A sliding keeper holds the tail secure, and a painted metal end tip prevents the inner webbing from fraying over years of use.
