This original Russian Army PPSh-41 ammo pouch is built for carrying Soviet submachine gun drum magazines.
Historical Design & Origin
Issued to Red Army troops during the post-WWII and Cold War eras, this Grade 1 surplus pouch was designed to hold a 71-round drum magazine for the PPSh-41 submachine gun. Made from heavy-duty olive canvas, it features robust stitching and internal Soviet inspection ink stamps. It protected vital ammunition from mud and dirt on the Eastern Front and in field storage.
Pouch Layout & Hardware
The main compartment holds a standard drum magazine, secured with a natural leather closing strap and a sturdy metal buckle. A smaller side pouch with its own buckle flap provides dedicated space for an oil bottle or small tool kit. On the rear, two heavy canvas belt loops allow easy attachment to standard military equipment belts for field carry.
