This original East German NVA Officers Cap Badge was standard issue for military visor caps during the Cold War.
Cold War Design
This genuine NVA Mützenkranz (cap wreath) represents a unique blend of German military history. Used by officers of the East German Landstreitkräfte (Land Forces) and Luftstreitkräfte (Air Force) from 1956 to 1990, it features a traditional silver oak leaf wreath. The central cockade displays the Staatswappen der DDR, which represents the workers, farmers, and intelligentsia.
Aluminium Construction
The badge is made from a lightweight, silver-coloured aluminium that prevents corrosion and keeps the weight minimal on a heavy visor hat band. Measuring approximately 5 x 7 cm, it features a central red enamelled cockade with the East German flag colours beneath. On the back, two flat bendable pins ensure the insignia stays locked securely onto the stiff fabric of your hat.
