Full Description
This 1980s British Airman's watch is an accurate reproduction of the classic Royal Air Force military timepiece.
Cold War Aviation Design
This timepiece replicates the standard-issue wristwatches worn by Royal Air Force pilots during the Falklands era. The design has a high-contrast black dial with green Arabic numerals, a layout first chosen in the 1980s so aircrews could read the time in a split second. It marks a classic period when military aviation gear shifted from mechanical movements to reliable quartz.
Reliable Quartz Movement
Inside, there is a reliable Japanese quartz movement that keeps much better time than old mechanical designs. The polished case is 36.8mm in diameter and just 9.6mm deep, so it sits nice and flat on your wrist without catching. The glass lens is a tough, flat mineral crystal, and the crown wheel is styled to be easy to grip and turn when you need to adjust it.
Woven Canvas Strap
For the strap, you get a rugged tan canvas strap that's 20mm wide, styled after the military's lightweight nylon webbing. This breathable woven fabric keeps the alloy case secure on your wrist and is much more comfortable in hot weather than leather. It is a solid, straightforward setup that works well for hiking, daily wear, or historic aviation collections.
Setup and Packaging
It comes brand-new in a presentation box with an installed battery and a spare. Just a quick heads-up: the hands might look like they are free-moving in the case at first. This is completely normal for this movement during transit and stops the moment you push the crown wheel fully in to connect the battery and lock the gear train in place.
Equip your wrist with this reliable Cold War aviation tribute and bring military-grade styling to your daily kit.
