This is a genuine British RAF Queen's Crown beret badge with its original brass backing plate.
Royal Air Force Heritage
This unissued other ranks insignia represents the unified emblem for Royal Air Force airmen during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. The central monogram is framed by a laurel wreath signifying victory, topped with the Queen's Crown. Worn on the standard blue-grey beret, it has been the primary identification mark for aircrew and ground staff since the introduction of anodised insignia.
Staybrite Engineering
Made to official MoD specifications, the badge is manufactured from lightweight Staybrite anodised aluminium. Introduced in the 1950s, this material eliminated the tedious task of polishing brass uniform elements, resisting tarnish and rust even in damp field conditions. Measuring 44mm x 40mm, the gold-toned badge features rear lugs for seamless mounting.
Complete Mounting Hardware
This supergrade set is supplied with its original brass backing plate and a steel split pin.
