Frequently asked questions

Is this genuine issue surplus?

Yes, the vast majority of our stock is genuine government-issue surplus originally made for military contracts. All genuine surplus is clearly marked on our store by our Supergrade, Grade 1, or Distressed grading badges so you know exactly what you are getting.

To help round out your kit, we also carry a few select reproduction items, fresh in-date food provisions, and complementary gear. These exceptions are always clearly labeled so you are never left guessing.

What do your Condition Grades mean?

We grade and size all of our stock in-house to ensure you know exactly what you are getting. Every item on our site is clearly marked with one of the following badges:

  • Supergrade: Genuine military surplus. Unissued or barely worn. Crisp, clean, and looks brand new.
  • Grade 1: Genuine military surplus. Issued and worn, but in full working order. May have names on labels or minor professional repairs. Good, field-ready condition.
  • Distressed: Genuine military surplus. Visible wear, fading, or minor damage. Perfect for workwear or paintball where aesthetics don’t matter.
  • Commercial: Non-surplus items. Brand-new, modern reproductions or civilian gear brought in to complement our core range.
  • Provisions: Non-surplus items. Fresh, new, and completely in-date food, rations, and consumables.
How does military sizing work?

Military sizes (NATO) can be confusing, so we have converted everything on our site into standard UK/EU sizes (e.g., Small, Medium, Large, or 32" Waist). We measure items flat in our warehouse to ensure accuracy. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up for surplus kit.

Has the kit been washed?

To keep our prices competitive, we do not launder surplus items before dispatch. Items are sold in their "as stored" condition. Because military kit is often stored in depots for long periods, some items may have a "storage scent" upon arrival. We recommend washing all garments immediately according to the care label.

What if it doesn't fit?

We offer a 60-day "No Quibble" return policy. If your boots or jacket don't fit, simply return them in the same condition you received them for a full refund or exchange (UK Only). We know buying surplus online can be tricky, so we make returns easy.

When will [Item Name] be back in stock?

Genuine surplus is finite. We buy in batches, and once a specific item or size is gone, we often cannot get it again. When it's gone, it's gone.
