The Iconic 'Kongo' Parka

Originally issued to the Czechoslovakian People's Army (ČSLA) from 1960 into the 1980s, this vintage coat earned the nickname 'Kongo' parka from troops. It was engineered as a rugged outer layer to protect soldiers during freezing border patrols. Today, its heavy-duty build makes it an ideal choice for bushcrafters and collectors seeking historical reliability.

Clever Field Engineering

This coat features reinforced elbows to prevent wear when crawling through rough brush. You get two front hand pockets and a unique right-rear utility pocket originally meant for a grenade. The front has a hidden button placket and storm flap to block cold drafts, while the high collar can be secured with a throat tab to lock in vital body warmth.

Dual-Layered Camouflage

The vz. 60 'Jehličí' (needles) pattern is famous for its vertical rain streaks over a two-tone background. Unlike other Eastern Bloc patterns, the Czechs used infrared-reflective dyes that print a second 'cloud' pattern underneath. Under night vision, this hidden print breaks up your outline in dark woodlands, making it a highly advanced design for its time.
