Traditional Solar Insulation

Modelled on the 1877 Foreign Service pattern, this helmet uses a lightweight natural pith core made from Vietnamese elder wood. The dense cellular structure acts as a natural heat barrier, blocking harsh solar radiation. Covered in durable khaki drill cloth, it repels blazing heat and sheds light rain during outdoor treks, historical displays, or period living history.

Anti-Glare Lining and Active Airflow

The underside features a traditional dark green cotton lining that cuts harsh ground glare and reduces eye strain in bright daylight. Above, a raised ventilator cap and crown eyelet work with the suspended cradle. This internal offset lets air flow freely across your scalp, quickly venting heat rather than trapping moisture during warm-weather use.

Adjustable Harness and Secure Fit

Inside, an adjustable faux-leather sweatband uses a clean hook-and-loop closure to fit head sizes up to 60cm. Spaced cord lacing keeps the shell floating off your brow for all-day comfort. A buckled chinstrap keeps the helmet firmly seated during windy field days, or rests across the front brim for a classic uniform look.
