Colonial M1931 Design
Based on the classic Modèle 1931 colonial pattern, this khaki sun helmet was originally fielded across North Africa and Indochina. It uses a lightweight pressed plant pith core covered in a hard-wearing polyester-cotton twill. The wide sloping brim creates a 360-degree shade barrier that deflects harsh glare away from your eyes, face, and neck during midday heat.
Active Crown Ventilation
Hot tropical climates demand continuous passive cooling. This helmet features six metal eyelet vents positioned three to a side in a triangular pattern, paired with a central top crown vent. This airflow system channels warm air upward and out of the dome, regulating your head temperature whether you are working in the garden, hiking exposed trails, or attending a summer reenactment.
Adjustable Suspension Cradle
Inside, an elevated canvas suspension webbing harness keeps the helmet shell lifted off your scalp for added air circulation. The internal headband adjusts via hook-and-loop fastening to fit head sizes up to 58 cm. A front-mounted leatherette chinstrap slides down beneath your chin with twin metal buckles, locking the helmet firmly in place against sudden wind gusts.
