This is an original US 86th Infantry Division shoulder patch.
Historical Unit Heritage
Originally approved in 1918, the 86th Infantry Division adopted the "Blackhawk" title in honour of Sauk Chief Black Hawk. The division served across Europe during World War Two, fighting in the Ruhr Pocket and liberating the Attendorn labour camp. Wearing this original military surplus patch adds authentic historical lineage to any military insignia display.
Insignia Specs & Design
Measuring approximately 5.5cm by 6.5cm, this shoulder sleeve insignia features a red shield background topped with a black hawk with spread wings. The central shield displays the monogrammed initials BH for Blackhawk. Fully embroidered with dense stitching on heavy cloth, it includes a traditional cut raw edge finish built to be stitched directly onto tunic sleeves.
