Manufactured in Birmingham during WW2, these 10-inch Lightning Kynhook zip fasteners served as the front chest closure on British airborne Denison smocks. Issued to paratroopers and Commandos, the half-length design allowed quick ventilation while keeping the smock secure under parachute harness webbing.
