Military Commando Heritage
First developed during the Second World War for British Commandos, this genuine Heavy Jersey, was adopted across the Ministry of Defence. It was engineered to keep soldiers warm in freezing, damp conditions. The heavy ribbed knit naturally hugs your body to trap core heat, making it perfect for cold-weather bushcraft or working outdoors today.
Heavy Ribbed Wool Blend
Made from a tough 80% wool blend, this jumper combines the natural thermal properties of wool with the durability of modern fibres. The tight 2x2 ribbing stretches horizontally to adapt to your build, maintaining a close fit without restriction. This design keeps the fabric snug against your torso, blocking out drafts while easily layered under a windproof smock.
Reinforced for the Field
Heavy field use is handled by the hard-wearing polycotton shoulder and elbow patches, preventing wear from heavy backpack straps or rifle slings. Classic shoulder epaulettes add traditional military utility, while the deep, double-thickness cuffs fold back to let you adjust sleeve length easily. This item was used by the British Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
