This is an original German Army officer's claw buckle, built for field duty belts.
Field Service Heritage
Known originally as the Zweidornschnalle, this twin-claw buckle was standard field kit for German officers during WWII and the immediate post-war period. Unlike ornate parade dress buckles, officers wore this open-frame design in combat zones across the Heer and Luftwaffe. It kept heavy duty belts locked firmly in place when carrying sidearms and map cases.
Aluminium Build and Finish
This buckle is made from lightweight die-stamped aluminium with a classic silver-grey finish. The outer frame features a distinct pebbled texture, which cut down on light reflections in the field and provided extra grip. The robust dual steel prongs pivot smoothly to fit standard 45mm to 50mm leather officer belts without tearing the leather holes.

This item was used by the German Army during the WWII (1939–1945) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
