Genuine Issue Surplus
KEY FEATURES
The Danish Army M71 Civil Defence Parka is a genuine Cold War surplus field jacket.
Cold War Defense Origins
Issued to the Danish Civilforsvaret during the 1970s and 1980s, this jacket was built for emergency response teams and home defence crews. The dense grey cotton canvas weave blocks cold winds while resisting tears during rough field tasks. Its neutral grey-green shade provided practical concealment in urban disaster zones rather than standard woodland combat environments.
Practical Field Construction
Designed for quick adjustment, the jacket features a heavy-duty full-length front zip alongside a buttoned storm collar. An internal drawstring waistband lets you cinch the coat close to retain body heat in cold weather. Four front cargo pockets with buttoned flaps offer secure storage, while the left sleeve bears the official embroidered Civilforsvaret emblem.
Versatile Utility & Care
The unlined cotton build makes this parka an ideal outer layer over warm knitwear or work shirts. Buttoned wrist cuffs allow easy adjustment over heavy work gloves. Whether used as a hard-wearing chore coat for outdoor jobs, camping, or added to a militaria collection, this piece offers reliable utility and straightforward machine-washable maintenance.
Add this authentic Danish Civil Defence jacket to your kit for dependable outdoor protection and historical style.
This item was used by the Other Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.

- Fabric & Wear: Structurally sound with light cosmetic wear, minor abrasion, or subtle fading from normal military use and laundering.
- Markings & Personalisation: May feature soldier names, unit numbers, service markings, or light depot stamps written on tags or fabric.
- Repairs: May include neat, professional military-standard stitches or minor reinforcement patches that do not compromise gear integrity.
- Storage & Cleanliness: Gear is serviceable straight out of the box, though a standard initial wash or airing is recommended to clear typical military surplus storage scent and minor handling dust.
