WW2 Bulgarian Army Coconut Canteen
Good used condition. Fully functional and field-ready, with light wear and typical service markings.
Genuine Issue Surplus
KEY FEATURES
These are original WW2 Bulgarian Army coconut canteens.
Historical Wood-Fiber Design
Issued to Bulgarian infantry during the Second World War, these canteens follow the German-designed resin-bonded wood fiber construction. Developed as an alternative to scarce wool felt, the composite shell acts as a thermal barrier to protect the inner vessel while deadening sound in the field.
Aluminum Vessel and Fittings
Inside the textured protective casing is a lightweight aluminium water flask featuring a threaded neck and an aluminium screw cap. The integrated rear metal belt clip allows quick attachment to military webbing, utility belts, or field equipment.
Practical Utility for Collectors
The distinct brown composite shell gives this flask its iconic coconut nickname. Ideal for militaria collectors and historical reenactors, this original surplus item offers a complete example of wartime material innovation.
Add this original field flask to your military surplus collection or wartime display.
This item was used by the Bulgarian Army during the WWII (1939–1945) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
