This original Belgian Army ABL canteen cup is a classic military field mug.
Military Field Design
Issued to Belgian forces during the Cold War, this ABL canteen cup follows the battle-tested US WWII M1910 design. Stamped from durable lightweight aluminium, it features a curved kidney shape specifically contoured to nest underneath standard one-quart water canteens inside a belt pouch.
Folding Locking Handle
The cup includes a traditional folding L-handle secured by a central hinge. A sliding metal retainer bracket locks the handle in place when extended, giving you a firm grip and safe clearance from hot metal when drinking or pouring.
Cookware Utility
With a capacity of roughly 750ml, this mug doubles as a compact cooking pot. You can place it directly over a camp stove or open flame to boil water for rations and hot drinks, replacing bulky mess tins in your pack.

This item was used by the Belgian Army during the Early Cold War (1947–1960) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
