Based on the classic West German Army cold-weather field coat, this Commercial grade reproduction by Brandit retains the proven Cold War design. Original Bundeswehr soldiers relied on this silhouette for border patrols and field exercises across chilly central European winters. It includes the signature German national flags on both upper sleeves and functional shoulder epaulettes.
Modular Thermal Liner System
For freezing days, the button-in deep-pile sherpa lining traps core body heat while knitted storm cuffs seal out draughts at the wrists. When spring arrives or temperatures rise on the trail, simply unbutton the entire fleece layer. That leaves you with a breathable, unlined jacket, supported by integrated underarm ventilation eyelets to release excess heat during steep climbs.
Tough Cotton Shell and Storage
The outer layer is made from hard-wearing 100% cotton fabric that resists sparks, thorns, and rough abrasion. A heavy-duty front zip sits behind a buttoned storm flap to block biting crosswinds. Five dedicated pockets—two snap-down chest pockets, two deep hip cargo pockets, and an internal chest compartment—give you ample room to carry essential tools, firesteels, and EDC gear.
