Authentic Airborne Design
Originally designed for airborne troops, this cotton canvas chin strap secures an M1 helmet liner during jumps. The shaped two-piece chin cup cradles the jaw firmly. This helps stop the steel helmet rocking back and forth during sudden movements or parachute drops. It provides the exact look needed for Cold War and Vietnam War US paratrooper helmet restorations.
Adjustable Eyelet Fitment
Each end of the webbing features four blackened metal eyelets. These grommets slot directly onto the wire buckles of your helmet liner's A-straps (yokes). Having multiple eyelets allows you to adjust the tension easily for a snug fit. The reinforced eyelet rings stop the cotton fabric from tearing when pulled tight against the hardware under tension.
Durable Canvas Webbing
Made from heavy-duty OD-7 olive drab cotton webbing, the strap is built to handle rough field use and sweat. Folded edges and heavy bar-tack stitching keep the centre chin cup strong under strain. As genuine surplus in Grade 1 condition, these straps show authentic military heritage and minor age marks while remaining fully functional for displays or field use.

This item was used by the US Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
