This original South African SADF 70 Pattern Webbing Set is a complete, field-ready military load carriage system.
Border War Combat Heritage
Designed by paratrooper M.J. du Toit, this SADF Pattern 70 webbing was built for the South African Defence Force during the Border War. Influenced by British 58 pattern gear, it was engineered with extremely heavy tan cotton canvas to withstand the intense heat of the African bush. It served as the frontline load carrier for both the army and the South West African Police.
Rugged Field Construction
Each original surplus set includes a heavy-duty adjustable belt, suspender yoke, two integrated kidney pouches, and a poncho roll bedroll strap system. The rock-hard canvas construction is joined by chunky metal buckles and D-rings. Some pieces display genuine historical character, carrying hand-inked soldier names or service numbers from their active service days.

This item was used by the Other Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
