This is an original Romanian Army M74 gas mask. It is genuine Cold War surplus.
Cold War Design
Originally issued to the Romanian Armed Forces in the late Cold War, the Masca contra gazelor Md. 74 is a licensed copy of the German M65 respirator. Made by Romcarbon S.A., this standard-issue mask offers military collectors a genuine piece of Warsaw Pact history representing decades of frontline chemical defence engineering.
Durable Neoprene Body
Unlike standard natural rubber masks, this model is made from a tough, green neoprene rubber compound. This material selection prevents cracking and resists chemical degradation over long storage periods. The interior features an orinasal inner cup that directs your warm breath away from the eyepieces, helping to prevent lens fogging during active use.
Adjustable 6-Point Harness
The mask uses a six-point elastic head harness with pull-to-tighten straps, allowing for a highly adjustable fit. It is designed with a standard 40mm threaded inlet on the chin, which is compatible with vintage canisters or modern training filters. For storage, keeping the mask out of direct sunlight will prevent the triangular lenses from yellowing over time.

This item was used by the Romanian Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
