Genuine Issue Surplus
KEY FEATURES
The original Italian Army desert cap is a lightweight military surplus field cap designed for warm weather.
Desert Camouflage Heritage
Issued to Italian troops during 1990s and early 2000s arid deployments, including UN operations in Somalia, this cap features the distinctive Mimetico Deserto pattern. Printed on a sandy tan background with brown and green shapes, it provided effective concealment in desert environments. These original items arrive in unissued Supergrade condition straight from military stores.
100% Cotton Construction
Built from 100% woven cotton fabric, the cap allows maximum airflow to keep your head cool during hot summer days. The lightweight single-layer crown absorbs sweat naturally while remaining breathable. Unlike rigid headwear, the soft stitched peak can be folded down, letting you easily stow the cap in a coat pocket or rucksack when not in use.
Comfortable Elasticated Fit
The cap features an integrated rear elastic band that flexes for a snug, secure fit without needing metal buckles or plastic straps. Designed with a structured multi-panel crown, it sits low on the head to block glare during outdoor activities like hiking, bushcraft, and camping. Each cap includes official internal issue tags marked Esercito Italiano.
Equip yourself with genuine Italian military headwear for your next hot-weather outdoor trip.

Supergrade is our highest condition rating for genuine military surplus. Items in this category are in near-new, top-tier condition and have seen little to no field use.
- Origin: Typically unissued reserve stock, trial gear, or kit issued but never actively deployed.
- Fabric & Materials: Crisp, fully intact, and structurally perfect with original color vibrancy and no fading.
- Hardware & Fastenings: Zips, press studs, hook-and-loop closures, and buckles operate like new with no functional wear.
- Markings & Repairs: No holes, tears, repairs, or personalized user markings. Factory issue labels and faint depot storage stamps may be present.
- Storage & Scent: May show minor creasing or light dust from transit. Like most authentic military surplus held in long-term dry storage, items may carry a faint warehouse scent that clears easily with a quick first wash or air-out.
A 3-color mottled camouflage pattern featuring irregular, jagged blotches in light tan, ochre, and chocolate brown, typically set on a sandy-beige background. It was specifically designed for concealment in arid, desert, and dry rocky environments, retaining the fractal-like edge geometry of the temperate Vegetato pattern.
Also known as: Mimetico Vegetata Deserto & Vegetato Arido
