This original US Army M43 cotton hood delivers genuine post-war military surplus head protection.
Historical Field Design
First standardized in June 1944 for the M-1943 field uniform, this design carried straight into the 1950s. Built to button directly onto the epaulettes and collar of US field jackets and overcoats, it protected soldiers from harsh cold and rain. The generous cut allowed troops to wear it comfortably under a standard M1 steel helmet without restricting head movement.
Durable Cotton Build
Made from tightly woven olive drab cotton, this hood shields your head and neck against wind, brush, and light weather. It features a storm flap with a secure button fastening at the throat and an integrated drawcord to cinch the face opening tight. Authentic interior contract stamps display original quartermaster markings and field wear instructions.

This item was used by the US Army during the Early Cold War (1947–1960) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
