KEY FEATURES
This East German sports jacket is a detailed reproduction of the classic DDR athletic top.
Cold War Athletic Heritage
This reproduction represents the Armeesportvereinigung Vorwärts (Army Sports Association Forward), the official sports organization of the East German National People's Army (NVA). Originally worn by elite military athletes training behind the Iron Curtain, this jacket brings distinct Cold War style to modern sportswear, complete with the iconic yellow-and-red sleeve stripes.
Practical Sportswear Design
Woven from a durable 58% polyester and 42% cotton blend, the fabric provides excellent breathability while retaining its shape during active use. The high-rising, ribbed stand-up collar offers wind protection, and the elasticated cuffs and waistband ensure a snug fit that traps warmth. A single zippered chest pocket provides secure storage for small essentials during training.
Vintage Style & Modern Use
Perfect for collectors, outdoor enthusiasts, or casual wear, this jacket stands out from generic civilian tracksuits. It features a high-quality embroidered ASV shield patch on the chest and a full-length front zipper for adjustable ventilation. The deep chocolate brown shade provides a distinct vintage aesthetic that is both durable and highly functional for daily activities.
Add a classic piece of East German athletic history to your wardrobe or outdoor kit.
This item was used by the German Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
