KEY FEATURES
These are original East German Police Border Guard Shoulder Boards.
Cold War Insignia
Issued to the Deutsche Volkspolizei and border police units during the Cold War, these shoulder boards signify the rank of Wachtmeister. The distinct light green base represents the official service branch colour (Waffenfarbe) for border security forces in East Germany.
Traditional Braid Design
Each board features classic German police braid made from twisted silver-grey and dark green cords laid over a durable cloth backing. The centre is finished with a dark green cord insert, matching original DDR uniform specifications for enlisted junior non-commissioned personnel.
Simple Slip-On Mounting
Constructed with an integrated underside fabric loop, these slip-on epaulettes slide directly over uniform shoulder buttons without needing any sewing. They are ideal for completing period uniform displays, historical reenactments, or custom military tailoring projects.
Complete your Cold War uniform collection with an original pair of East German border police shoulder boards.
This item was used by the German Military Police during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
