Genuine Issue Surplus
KEY FEATURES
This is an original South African Defence Force Nutria Summer Bush Jacket in genuine military surplus condition.
Border War Heritage
Issued to South African Defence Force personnel during the Border War, this bush jacket was designed for the dry African veld. The iconic Nutria Brown shade was adopted because a single solid earth tone effectively breaks up a soldier's outline across arid terrain, providing versatile camouflage without complex multi-colour patterns.
Durable Poly-Cotton Build
Made from a hard-wearing polyester-cotton blend, this jacket resists tears from thorns and thick brush while staying breathable. An internal insulating layer keeps off the chill during sudden desert temperature drops at night. A concealed button front ensures buttons will not snag or snap off when moving through dense cover.
Practical Field Storage
Built for field utility, the jacket has four large front cargo pockets with angled flaps to store tools, rations, and equipment securely. An internal waist drawstring and buttoned wrist cuffs allow you to cinch the fit to block out wind and dust. It works brilliantly for bushcraft, hiking, camping, or everyday outdoor wear.

This item was used by the Other Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
