Military Provenance and Design
Modelled directly on the classic German M31 Kochgeschirr, this two-piece cookware set served Romanian ground troops throughout the Cold War. Built from lightweight stamped aluminium with an olive drab exterior, it gave soldiers a self-contained way to boil rations, cook hot meals, or carry prepared food in the field without adding heavy bulk to their standard combat webbing.
Functional Two-Piece Construction
The system consists of a deep lower pot and a fitted upper lid that doubles as a shallow frying pan or eating bowl. A folding steel bail handle on the body allows you to hang the main pot securely over an open campfire or set it across a camp stove. The upper lid includes its own folding handle, locking the set together for transport.
Field Dimensions and Surplus Grading
Measuring approximately 16cm wide by 15cm high, this compact tin packs easily inside a rucksack or straps directly to vintage field packs. As genuine surplus, each tin shows authentic field character, ranging from unissued Supergrade stock to field-used Grade 1 and weathered Distressed condition with minor scuffs and patina.

This item was used by the Romanian Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
