KEY FEATURES
The Original East German NVA Shoulder Carry Strap is a classic Cold War utility sling for carrying gear.
Cold War Combat Heritage
Originally issued to the National People's Army (Nationale Volksarmee) of East Germany, this strap was a core component of the soldier's field kit. It served as a versatile carrying method for the Sturmgepäck (combat pack) and special equipment bags. Woven from heavy-duty Steingrau nylon webbing, it is engineered to resist water and abrasion in challenging field conditions.
Robust Utility & Adjustment
The strap features a sliding metal buckle that adjusts from 32 to 52 inches, allowing you to find the ideal hanging height. Securely riveted flat steel snap hooks on both ends provide instant attachment to bag D-rings. This durable construction prevents accidental slips under heavy loads, offering a level of reliability that outperforms flimsy modern civilian gear.
Modern Field Functionality
This Grade 1 surplus sling is unissued but shows minor tarnish on the metalwork from decades in military storage. Ideal for bushcraft, hiking, or vintage fashion, it is perfect for restoring military bags or repurposing as a rugged utility strap. Its minimalist grey aesthetic blends historical authority with everyday practical use, solving your heavy-gear transport needs.
Equip your favorite field bag with this original East German sling and carry your gear with confidence.
This item was used by the German Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
