This is an original Czech Aircrew Helmet issued to military flight crews.
Cold War Aviation History
Issued to Czechoslovak Air Force helicopter and transport crews during the Cold War era, these helmets provided aircrews with head protection and integrated radio communications. Each helmet retains its original military character, making it an exceptional display piece for Cold War militaria collectors and aviation history enthusiasts.
Shell Construction and Hardware
The helmet is built around a lightweight glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) shell featuring a protective outer finish and a heavy leather-trimmed rim with hand stitching. Heavy-duty metal snaps and leather retention straps secure the inner assembly, providing a durable shell design engineered for tight cockpit environments.
Communications and Internal Lining
Inside, the helmet features a soft leather lining and padded ear cups housing the internal headset. An adjustable leather throat microphone with a zippered housing straps around the neck to pick up vocal vibrations through engine noise, wired directly to a heavy-duty multi-pin aircraft radio plug downlead.

This item was used by the Czech Airforce during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
