Bundeswehr Design History
These genuine Bundeswehr Tropenstiefel were made in Germany by Baltes for soldiers in hot climates. Based on the classic 1960s US Pattern III design, they feature a high-quality leather and olive green canvas build. Unlike the stiff US model, these omit the steel sole plate to make them more flexible, lighter, and comfortable for long-distance marching.
Water Drainage and Ventilation
Designed for wet terrain, these boots have twin drainage ports on the inner arch. The natural bending of your foot acts as a pump, pushing water out with every step. Inside, a quick-drying mesh lining and layered insole prevent moisture buildup, protecting your feet from sores and trench foot during wet forest crossings or heavy rain.
Traction and Speed Lacing
The tough rubber sole has an aggressive stippled tread that sheds thick mud and resists oil and petrol. A seven-eyelet speed lacing system, with closed loops and a middle locking eyelet, prevents snags in heavy undergrowth. These supergrade surplus boots are in excellent, near-new condition, making them ideal for bushcraft, hiking, and workwear.

This item was issued to the German Army during the Post‑Cold War (1991–2000) and remains in Supergrade condition. It is unissued original surplus, but may have minor dust or storage marks from warehouse storage. We recommend giving it a wash or airing it out before wearing.
