British Nurses Cap
Good used condition. Fully functional and field-ready, with light wear and typical service markings.
Genuine Issue Surplus
KEY FEATURES
This Original Nurses Cap provides a classic medical uniform profile for historical impressions and collectors.
Traditional Medical Design
This genuine surplus nurses cap follows the classic folded headdress pattern worn by military nursing corps. Originally developed to keep hair secure and maintain clean ward standards, the structured shape retains its clean lines during long wear. It offers an accurate look for theatrical productions, museum presentations, and vintage uniform displays.
Breathable Coated Mesh
Made from a white polyester-coated mesh, the material allows constant airflow while staying stiff and upright. Unlike heavy starched cotton veils, this synthetic netting resists stains, wipes clean easily, and does not require starch treatments or complex ironing to maintain its crisp, upright appearance.
Adjustable Stud Fastening
The cap fits securely around the head using simple pop stud closures at the rear. These snaps provide fast adjustment for various hairstyles without needing separate hairpins or ribbons. The flat-folding construction also stores neatly in kit bags or costume wardrobes without crushing the main frame.
Complete your vintage medical uniform collection with this original surplus nurses cap.
This item was used by the British Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
