British RAF Queen's Crown Beret Badge with Back Plate
Excellent, near-new condition. May be unissued or show only the slightest signs of long-term storage.
Genuine Issue Surplus
KEY FEATURES
This is a genuine British RAF Queen's Crown beret badge with its original brass backing plate.
Royal Air Force Heritage
This unissued other ranks insignia represents the unified emblem for Royal Air Force airmen during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. The central monogram is framed by a laurel wreath signifying victory, topped with the Queen's Crown. Worn on the standard blue-grey beret, it has been the primary identification mark for aircrew and ground staff since the introduction of anodised insignia.
Staybrite Engineering
Made to official MoD specifications, the badge is manufactured from lightweight Staybrite anodised aluminium. Introduced in the 1950s, this material eliminated the tedious task of polishing brass uniform elements, resisting tarnish and rust even in damp field conditions. Measuring 44mm x 40mm, the gold-toned badge features rear lugs for seamless mounting.
Complete Mounting Hardware
This supergrade set is supplied with its original brass backing plate and a steel split pin. The backing plate measures 45mm x 45mm, distributing pressure evenly to prevent the lugs from tearing your beret’s wool fabric. Ideal for cadets, collectors, and reenactors, it ensures a flat, professional-grade fit on your cap or display board.
Complete your uniform or military collection with this unissued, official Royal Air Force insignia set.
This item was issued to the British Airforce during the Modern (2000–Present) and remains in Supergrade condition. It is unissued original surplus, but may have minor dust or storage marks from warehouse storage. We recommend giving it a wash or airing it out before wearing.

- Origin: Typically unissued reserve stock, trial gear, or kit issued but never actively deployed.
- Fabric & Materials: Crisp, fully intact, and structurally perfect with original color vibrancy and no fading.
- Hardware & Fastenings: Zips, press studs, hook-and-loop closures, and buckles operate like new with no functional wear.
- Markings & Repairs: No holes, tears, repairs, or personalized user markings. Factory issue labels and faint depot storage stamps may be present.
- Storage & Scent: May show minor creasing or light dust from transit. Like most authentic military surplus held in long-term dry storage, items may carry a faint warehouse scent that clears easily with a quick first wash or air-out.
